Brandon Ingram (heel, foot) will miss the start of the LA Clippers’ regular season.
The Los Angeles Clippers will kickstart their 2026-27 NBA season without Brandon Ingram.
On Wednesday, the Clippers announced that Ingram (heel, foot) will miss the team’s season opener against the Sacramento Kings on Oct. 21, per Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.
Joining Ingram on the team’s inactive list for the season start is Yanic Konan Niederhauser (Lisfranc).
Brandon Ingram to miss start of Clippers’ new season
Brandon Ingram underwent surgery to address his right heel issues last May. However, the procedure also included a repair in his partially torn right Achilles tendon on his foot.
Recent reports suggest that Ingram could play sooner than anticipated, but the LA Clippers seem fully cautious about the star forward’s health amid ongoing recovery.
Along with Gradey Dick and future draft assets, Ingram was acquired by the Clippers from the Toronto Raptors as part of the blockbuster Kawhi Leonard trade.
He averaged 21.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 77 games while shooting 47.7% from the field and 38.2% from the three-point range to lead the Raptors’ 46-win season en route to clinching his second All-Star honors.
Derrick Jones Jr., Rui Hachimura, and Keaton Wagler will be relied on by LA amid Ingram’s absence to lead their wing.
