SALT LAKE CITY (WKRC) – Crumbl Cookies has closed at least 57 locations this year as sales and customer visits have declined, according to a report.
The Utah-based cookie chain, which operates more than 1,000 locations, has also seen franchises listed for sale and workers laid off, Restaurant Business reported.
At least 55 Crumbl franchise locations were listed for sale on broker websites. The report did not identify which locations have closed or whether any Tri-State stores are affected.
Crumbl’s average annual sales per location fell to $1.14 million in 2025, down from a high of $1.84 million in 2022, according to data cited by Restaurant Business.
Customer traffic at Crumbl stores fell 32% in August compared with the same month a year earlier, based on figures from location analytics firm Placer.ai, the report said. Sales that month were about 70% lower than they were two years earlier, according to documents reviewed by Restaurant Business.
Several franchisees described August as the company’s worst month, Restaurant Business wrote.
