Early voting is the period before election day when any registered person can vote in person.
This year it runs from October 15th to 31st, and during those two and a half weeks you can vote at any of the county-owned sites wherever you live, regardless of where you reside. You can go to the one that’s closest or the one that’s most convenient that day.
The law requires it to be offered in all North Carolina electionsSo it will always be available before each election, and the period always closes on the Saturday before the election. This year, it’s October 31 at 3 pm.
How is it different from election day?
The first major difference is where you can vote: on November 3, each voter has only one place where they can vote, the precinct that corresponds to their address.
