UFC 334 lands at Madison Square Garden on November 14, with Ciryl Gane defending the heavyweight title against Josh Hokit and Kayla Harrison facing Amanda Nunes in the co-main event. Waiting for fight night can be frustrating, so here are some games to keep you going until it arrives. Whether you’re a longtime fan or more of a casual, you’ll enjoy what the gaming world has to offer in the run up to the event.
UFC Gold Blitz Extreme
Start off with something light. UFC Gold Blitz Extreme brings the glitz of a pay-per-view card to the casino world, with it being a great online slot game for MMA fans who like their entertainment fast, loud and a little unpredictable. The bright, event-night presentation nods to the buzz of a packed arena, while rounds take seconds, making it a handy warm-up for those who prefer shorter sessions.
EA Sports UFC 6
EA Sports UFC 6 remains the headline act. Released in the summer, it’s the newest entry in the franchise and the first in several years. Critics have been quick to praise its reworked striking, which gives punches, kicks and elbows genuine weight, while the Flow State mechanic adds a fresh twist to every bout. Story-driven modes such as Hall of Legends and The Legacy give you plenty of context alongside the carnage, so you can dive into MMA history before a new chapter is written in New York.
Ultimate MMA
Playing on PC and want something more budget-friendly? Look no further than Ultimate MMA. This Steam fighter features a tournament mode, more than 50 moves to unlock and a detailed editor for building your own athlete from scratch. Customisation even extends to a wide range of tattoos. It’s a game that some may feel lacks the polish of big-budget and big-name releases, but it’s simple to learn and very affordable. Remote Play Together lets a friend join online even if they don’t own the game, so you can settle the Gane vs. Hokit debate long before the real bout takes place.
MMA Manager 2
If you prefer strategy to button-mashing, MMA Manager 2 is the mobile game for you, as it lets you run a team of fighters instead of throwing the strikes yourself. You build the roster, make the big decisions and then see how it all unfolds, much like the matchmaker preparing a major UFC card. It’s a game that serves as a good reminder of how much planning goes into UFC cards, from weighing styles to timing a title shot. It’s a game that’s easy to pick up and ideal for shorter sessions, suiting a commute or a bit of spare time relaxing on the sofa at home.
Conclusion
UFC 334 is set to be another huge night for MMA, and fans are eager to see how it all unfolds, particularly in the heavyweight title clash between Ciryl Gane and Josh Hokit, which headlines the event. But with plenty of time between now and November 14, the games mentioned above are great for not only filling the gap but also getting you hyped for what should be another must-watch event.
