Democrats concerned after debate

Some Democrats are expressing concern after President Biden’s performance during the first presidential debate in Atlanta.

ATLANTA – President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump have resumed their campaign activities following last night’s heated debate in Atlanta. The debate has sparked significant discussions within the Democratic Party regarding Biden’s performance and his position as the party’s nominee.

Concerns have emerged among major Democrats about Biden’s responses during the debate. Some members of the party have privately expressed alarm over his performance, citing worries about his mental and physical stamina. Despite these concerns, the White House has downplayed the criticism, highlighting Biden’s strong finish after a shaky start.

Former Atlanta mayor and U.N. ambassador Andrew Young, who was among the dignitaries who greeted President Joe Biden at Dobbins Air Reserve Base before Thursday’s debate, told FOX 5 he disagrees with calls for Biden to pull out, saying the president has a proven track record.

“I mean he is doing very well in terms of his relationship with NATO,” Young told FOX 5’s Deidra Dukes. “He’s doing very well keeping Russia and China occupied. The economy is doing well for most people.”

Supporters of President Biden held a news conference late yesterday to counter the narrative, criticizing Trump and praising Biden’s vision for the future of America and Georgia. However, they avoided addressing whether Biden should remain at the top of the ticket.

“In the next four years we will grow more jobs, we will grow more opportunities, we will grow a better economy, we will grow a better climate because Joe Biden has put in the work,” said former Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, who spoke at the press conference.

Georgia Gang Panelist Melita Easters came to Biden’s defense during an appearance on Good Day Atlanta.

“He did have a cold, and he did at times stumble over the delivery of real facts, a real grasp of figures, a real grasp of public policy,” Easters explained.

Local Republicans definitely didn’t hold back on what they thought about Biden’s performance.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene blamed Biden’s age (Trump is only 3 years younger).

Georgia’s Lt. Gov. Burt Jones said that Biden couldn’t speak coherently.

State Rep. Houston Gaines said Biden shouldn’t even be president right now.
