Several businesses have recently closed in Prosper and Celina. Here are the details.

1. Chick n’ Burger

The restaurant, which opened in February, served hamburgers, chicken tenders, salads and milkshakes.

“Unfortunately, due to the current state of the economy and the lack of financial support available to small businesses from local and national banks, we are unable to continue operations,” owner Christian Johnson said in the social media post. “Despite our unwavering efforts and determination to keep Chick n’ Burger alive, we’ve reached a point where we must close this chapter.”

2. Prosper Wine House and Event Center on Broadway

Along with wine, the business served a small selection of beer, seltzer, charcuterie boards and other appetizers. It also hosted events such as wine pairings and live music. The Event Center on Broadway, which was adjacent to the Prosper Wine House, offered 1,600 square feet that could be rented for events.

3. Fuzzy’s Taco Shop

The eatery—located in the Windsong Ranch Marketplace shopping center—offered tacos, burrito bowls and other Tex-Mex cuisine. It also served beer and margaritas. A company spokesperson said the restaurant was closed by the franchisee.

4. Bongo Beaux’s

Bongo Beaux’s Bourre Palace and Cajun Kitchen offered Cajun dishes such as red beans and rice, po’boys and seafood baskets.

  • Closed in September
  • 218 W. Walnut St., Celina
