Tom Holland and Zendaya visited a Back Bay bar to try Holland’s new beer over the weekend during a break from Zendaya filming “The Drama.”
Zendaya may be busy filming “The Drama” in Boston with Robert Pattinson, but the actress still found time for a date night at a Back Bay bar with boyfriend Tom Holland.
Holland shared photos and a video on his Instagram story of the duo visiting Foxhole, a cozy garden-level bar on Newbury Street in the Back Bay.
Holland and Zendaya’s evening out was also the first time the actor got to drink his new non-alcoholic beer, Bero.
“I’m heading out to a bar to go have my first Bero in the wild,” Holland said in the video as he walked down a Boston street. “I’ll let you know how it goes.”

Zendaya and Tom Holland’s favorite Boston spots
Zendaya and Holland have shown a fondness for Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood.
During pre-production on “The Drama,” Zendaya visited Rainbows Pottery Studio, admiring local artists’ work just down the street from Foxhole.
And back in 2022 when the actress was filming “Challengers” in Boston, she and Holland grabbed a meal at the Boylston Street location of Tatte.
Before Holland arrived for a visit, Zendaya spent an evening trying to buy a pillow at the Newbury Street location of MUJI, struggling mightily to buy said pillow while wrangling her schnauzer, Noon.
‘The Drama’ filming locations
“The Drama,” which is also filming under the working title “A Very Philly Christmas,” has turned heads in the Boston area with a high number of outdoor shoots — and thus high visibility for stars Zendaya and Robert Pattinson — throughout October and November.
Zendaya and Pattinson first popped up at Phillips Academy in Andover, where crews transformed the private school’s Addison Art Gallery into the fictional “Cambridge Art Museum,” where Pattinson’s character in the film works, according to a source familiar with the production.
The movie has been filming all around Boston since then, with Zendaya and/or Pattinson popping up near South Station, across from Boston Common, in the Public Garden, and in the Back Bay, among other spots.
Filming is set to continue throughout the month in Boston, with additional scenes to be shot at a private club in Ipswich and the Porter Square area in Cambridge, according to a source familiar with the production.
What is ‘The Drama’ about?
While A24 has not released a plot synopsis for “The Drama,” a source familiar with the production told Boston.com that the film is about an engaged couple (Zendaya and Pattinson) confronted by their pasts in the lead-up to their wedding day.
That matches up with what Borgli told Norwegian outlet Rush Print in a February interview.
“A man and a woman are about to get married, and during a dinner they are challenged to share the worst thing they have ever done,” Borgli said. “And then there’s the bride-to-be who says something so terrible that the rest of the movie is about the consequences of sharing the truth.”
Along with Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, “The Drama” is set to star Mamoudou Athie (“Elemental”) and singer/actress Alana Haim (“Licorice Pizza”). A Boston.com reporter spotted Haim and Athie at the Somerville Theatre prior to filming in October.
“The Drama” is also produced by Ari Aster, who has helped shape A24’s identity as a studio with horror hits like “Midsommar” and “Hereditary.”
No release date has been set for “The Drama,” but barring delays in post-production, a 2025 release date seems likely.
