As MLB The Show 25 nears closer to its release, the highly-anticipated title has revealed its first gameplay trailer. The trailer, which clocks in at a little over two minutes, not only shows off the annual baseball sim’s updated graphics, but also calls attention to the various new gameplay features and changes that will be coming with MLB The Show 25.
San Diego Studio’s premier professional baseball title appears to be steadily revealing information surrounding the game over the course of the past few weeks. Last week was the official reveal of the MLB The Show 25 cover athletes which, similarly to EA Sports College Football 25, features three athletes: Paul Skenes, Elly De La Cruz, and Gunnar Henderson. Its release date was revealed at the same time as well, which is slated to be March 18. The gameplay trailer offers MLB The Show 25 fans their first real glimpse at what they can expect.

Microsoft reveals the list of the top 20 best-selling Xbox Store games of 2024, which includes a few somewhat unexpected entries.
MLB The Show 25‘s improved visuals aside, the latest iteration of the game features several notable upgrades. This includes an expanded Road to the Show mode – the game’s create-a-player mode – to include both high school and collegiate baseball, coupled with a revamped progression system along with new quick time events in-game. MLB The Show 25 makes good on promised changes that were announced last November with the removal of the heavily-derided Diamond Dynasty Sets and Seasons. In its place are Diamond Quest, a “risk-and-reward board game-like” mode, and a highly competitive multiplayer mode called Weekend Classic.
The MLB The Show 25 gameplay trailer also shows off all-new features like a first-person view, a new Franchise mode seemingly called Front Office Experience, and on-field enhancements with SHOWTECH. This feature includes hundreds of new animations for “extreme realism,” which also includes a new Ambush Hitting system for offense, and a new Reaction Time System on defense. The latter portion of the trailer also reveals the addition of baseball greats Roger Clemens and Manny Ramirez, confirming the inclusion of new legends that MLB The Show 25 teased back in January.
Game Pass is Striking Out with MLB The Show 25
Despite the removal of Diamond Dynasty Sets and Seasons, along with a host of new or updated features coming, not all the news surrounding MLB The Show 25 is good, at least for a certain portion of players. For the first time in four straight years, MLB The Show 25 won’t be a day-one Game Pass game. While disappointing to some, others believe the numerous new features of the game could warrant a direct purchase of the upcoming title. Either way, the new gameplay trailer should entice plenty of baseball fans to play the new game.
