From March 18-21 a total of 14 BYU football players with NFL aspirations will trek to Texas hoping to impress pro scouts at Big 12 Pro Day.

While the NFL draft prospects aren’t stellar overall for the 2025 BYU Cougars with Tyler Batty the only player projected to be drafted at this point, there’s still hope for others to catch the eyes of NFL talent evaluators before next month’s draft.

Here’s the list of the 14 BYU players headed to Texas hoping to see their stock rise with NFL scouts:

Offense: Gerry Bohanon, Caleb Etienne, Mason Fakahua, Keanu Hill, Brayden Keim, Darius Lassiter, Ray Paulo, Connor Pay

Defense: Isaiah Bagnah, Tyler Batty, Marque Collins, Blake Mangelson, John Nelson, Jakob Robinson

Let’s take a look at which of these players has the most to prove at Big 12 Pro Day:

Caleb Etienne, OT

The transfer from Oklahoma State had a really tough 2023 campaign in his first year in Provo, but then last year he was an absolute beast at left tackle. The 6-foot-8, 320-pounder was voted All-Big 12 First Team, which is a major honor and reflective of his dominant play. He clearly has NFL size and if he can show well in terms of speed, agility, and strength at Big 12 Pro Day, he could definitely play his way into becoming a fringe late-round pick.

Jakob Robinson, CB

While Jakob Robinson received an invitation to the East-West Shrine Bowl, he didn’t noticeably improve his draft stock coming out of that All-Star event. Robinson was an All-Big 12 Second Team selection in 2024 and was a team captain, but at 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds he’s a bit undersized for an NFL cornerback. A strong showing at Big 12 Pro Day can help reassure scouts that he’s either fast enough or strong enough – or both – to belong in the NFL.

Connor Pay, C

Connor Pay was a team captain and was voted All-Big 12 Honorable Mention, but his final season at BYU was derailed a bit by a broken bone in his foot that cost him a handful of games. His absence seemed to extinguish the momentum that was building for him as a possible late-round draft pick. At 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds, Pay has the size, strength, and experience to land on an NFL roster. He’s also smart, articulate, and a great leader, and NFL scouts will pick on on that side of his personality in addition to the results he produces at Big 12 Pro Day.

Darius Lassiter, WR

At 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, Darius Lassiter has an NFL body. He’s coming off a final season at BYU where he was a co-captain and All-Big 12 Honorable Mention after hauling in 45 receptions for 703 yards and four touchdowns. Big 12 Pro Day is a perfect venue for a guy like Lassiter to impress NFL scouts. If he can perform well in the speed drills to compliment his NFL size, he could turn some heads with talent evaluators and end up signing as an undrafted free agent.
