SAN ANTONIO — The final day of Fiesta San Antonio drew large crowds eager to savor the event’s sights and sounds before it concluded.

Many attendees expressed their desire to make the most of the festivities as the celebration draws to a close.

“I just came out here for the party,” one reveler said. Another added, “It’s always the lovely energy.” Edward de los Santos shared, “My family, they came from Carolina. Everybody is dancing crazy and wild, you know.”

The 11-day celebration, which featured multiple events, has been a significant economic boon for the area. Marc Anderson, President of Visit San Antonio, previously stated that Fiesta brings in about $340 million in economic impact.

Iris Soto, co-owner of Oohlola from Dallas, participated by setting up a booth downtown. “We thought, hey, let’s bring the business downtown San Antonio and see how the people respond, and so far it’s been great,” Soto said.

According to Fiesta San Antonio’s website, the event supports 3,464 full-time equivalent local jobs. As the festivities come to a close, attendees expressed their sentiments. “I’m gonna miss it, yeah. Every April, you know, we look forward to it,” one participant said.

Another added, “Doesn’t matter, you know, tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo. We just keep on going.” De los Santos echoed the sentiment, saying, “Be here tomorrow and the next day, even though there’s no Fiesta, I’ll be here.”

Fiesta Carnival will be open until midnight on Sunday.
