Fire & Smoke BBQ Company has joined St. Augustine’s Marina Munch waterside food truck park at 509 S Ponce De Leon Blvd.
Owned and operated by the Kay family, Chicago’s legendary slow-smoked BBQ will be offered in America’s oldest City Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. or until it’s all sold out.
“Real, slow-smoked, wood-burning BBQ is our passion, and we can’t wait to share that,” Mikey Kay, founder and pitmaster of Fire & Smoke BBQ, told the St. Augustine Record via email. “Whether it’s the first visit or your tenth, we’re here to make sure you feel like family with every bite.”
Fire & Smoke’s menu includes brisket, pulled pork and pork belly burnt ends smothered in award-winning barbecue sauce born from Kay’s family-run business in America’s windy city.
Kay is urging customers to come early because Fire & Smoke BBQ “won’t last long.”
“Like all great BBQ, once it’s gone, it’s gone,” he said. “We take pride in preparing everything fresh daily, and we often sell out before closing time.”
Kay launched Fire & Smoke BBQ Journey in 2017, in Chicago. For more than six years, they fed thousands, created a nationally recognized product line and built a loyal following, he said.
In 2023, after falling in love with St. Augustine, the Kay family decided to fire up the smoker in Florida.
Chris Martin of Endorphin Farms told the St. Augustine Record via email to “watch out for the Fire & Smoke BBQ Company.”
“Every plate is in a league of its own — seriously,” he said. “Their no-frills, real wood-smoked approach, backed by years of experience and passion, shines through in every single bite. This isn’t just BBQ… it’s greatness.”
Sauces, seasonings, rubs and toppings are made with “high quality ingredients.”
“No fillers or preservatives, only fresh spices to produce mouthwatering flavors,” Fire & Smoke says on its website.
The website also shares family recipes for making Hot Honey Pork Roast, Shepard’s Pie Soup, Sausage Bacon and Cabbage Soup and Jalapeno Cornbread Poppers, made of course with the family’s line of spices.
“Come early, bring your appetite, and get ready to be treated like family,” Kay said.
Fire & Smoke BBQ’s daily updates can be found on social media. Catering is also available.
