On May 18, Arkansas Northeastern College (ANC), in partnership with Arkansas United and Immaculate Conception Church, successfully hosted a Hispanic Service Fair aimed at supporting local families with vital resources and information.

Services Provided:

· Legal Consultations: Anaya’s Way, a nonprofit organization based in Jonesboro, AR, provided one-on-one private consultations with Immigration Advocate Elna June. Sixteen families benefited from personalized support on immigration-related questions and cases.

· Mental Health Presentation: Mental Health Paraprofessional David Grigsby delivered a powerful presentation on managing mental health during difficult times. He shared practical tips and emphasized the importance of prioritizing mental well-being.

· Notary Services: Erendira Vasquez, Delta Regional Director for Arkansas United, offered assistance with Family Preparedness Plans and Power of Attorney documents. She also provided notarization services on-site, finalizing documents for attending families.

· Community Resources: Regina Winford, Coordinator for the Mississippi County 100 Families Initiative, shared valuable information about the support and services available through the program for families in need.

· Educational Support: Representatives from Arkansas Northeastern College’s Community Relations Department — Willie D. Williams Jr. (Director for Outreach); Maggie George (Outreach Assistant Director); and Nansi Rios (Hispanic Success Navigator); provided attendees with information on ANC’s programs, campus locations, and opportunities for furthering their education.

This event was a meaningful step toward empowering and supporting the Hispanic community in Mississippi County through legal, mental health, and educational services.
