Shane Bieber is coming back on Friday, a lengthy journey that has eventually landed on him, pitching on August 22, 2025 for the Toronto Blue Jays, which is probably not what he necessarily envisioned when he re-signed with the Cleveland Guardians in the off-season, when he was rehabbing with the Cleveland Guardians all summer.
And looked like he was about to come back and then had a brief setback and so then he had to take a month off of throwing and then he came back and was rehabbing all the way up to AAA right before the deadline and he looks good in the minor leagues, good enough with the Guardians in the in shambles due to their gambling, other pitchers, and also just not playing very well.
Uh, they decided, you know what, we’re going to trade Shane Bieber.

Just talking to Shane a good amount over the, over the past few months.
Boy, has he been itching.
I mean, this is of course true for anybody coming back from surgery, but he’s someone that is not, he does not want to be, you know, pitching in the, in the low stakes, uh, minor leagues anymore.
He has been thinking about competing in the majors for months and months and months.
We assume he’s going to pitch well and opt out, we’ll see, maybe he is in Toronto next season, who knows, but it’s quite, quite the mid-season adjustment for him, but uh he’s, he’s quite excited to be back.
I’m excited for how good he looked at the beginning of last season before he went down, man, oh man, uh, it’s, it’s exciting to see what, what Bieber can be again for, for a new team for the first time.
