Every month, more than $1 million in home service jobs flow through a Miami-based app, and that money is going directly into the hands of small business owners and independent contractors.
The app, Dingdoor, is quietly impacting South Florida home service contractors. It connects users with licensed professionals, most of them independent providers, offering same-day home repair services. Whether it’s AC repair, furniture assembly or plumbing, Dingdoor connects customers with the right professional as quickly as possible.
The idea behind Dingdoor comes from the lived experience of its founder, Maykel De Céspedes. After immigrating from Cuba with a graphic design degree, he took a job washing clothes at a Miami laundromat to save money and launch his first business, a graphic design agency. In less than two years, the company generated more than $1 million in annual revenue and evolved into a full-scale digital marketing firm eventually becoming a Google and Meta partner. Through that work, De Céspedes gained firsthand insight into how small businesses were often left behind by the very tech tools meant to help them grow. That’s how Dingdoor became the solution.
“Our mission for contractors is to provide the best opportunity for them through this tool so they can grow their revenue and be their own boss based on their efforts,” De Céspedes said.
Today, the platform supports more than 3,000 active service providers with 30,000 users and counting. Dingdoor currently operates in Miami-Dade, Broward, Lee, and Hillsborough counties. For small business contractors, it offers a steady stream of work, fast payments, and access to a digital infrastructure that many previously lacked.
“Dingdoor has helped me obtain 80 percent of my current clientele,” general contractor Jose Ledesmar told Refresh Miami. Ledesmar said that this year alone, he has completed 32 projects and generated approximately $120,000 in revenue.
Dingdoor’s traction hasn’t gone unnoticed. Last year, the company raised $1.4 million from angel investors and friends-and-family funding rounds. It now plans to raise an additional $3 million seed round to expand across Florida and implement artificial intelligence into the platform. With new AI implementations, users can expect an enhanced matching experience between customers and service providers as well as quicker response times. AI will also assist in evaluating job pricing, ensuring rates are competitive and fair based on market data and demand, while helping providers remain profitable in a changing economy.
With its upcoming AI enhancements and plans to expand across Florida, Dingdoor aims to make booking and delivering home services faster, fairer, and more efficient. By keeping its focus on empowering small, often immigrant-owned businesses, the company continues to position itself as both a tech innovator and an economic driver in the communities it serves. The team is also exploring partnerships with local organizations to grow its user base, connecting more homeowners and renters with vetted contractors through the platform and ensuring that as Dingdoor scales, its network of providers has consistent access to new customers.
