HOUSTON — The popular Texas-based travel center chain held three groundbreaking ceremonies this month in three different states — two of which are new territories for the company. Additionally, the company is still pushing ahead in other states.
Buc-ee’s breaks ground in Louisiana after delays
Buc-ee’s broke ground on its first Louisiana travel center on Oct. 24, according to a press release and news reports. The 74,000-square-foot center in Ruston, in the northern part of the state, will be at Interstate 20 and Tarbutton Road.
After the Ruston location was announced last year, the timeline for store’s groundbreaking and opening was pushed back. It’s now expected to open in 2027.
In December 2024, Buc-ee’s closed on the acquisition of 42 acres for another Louisiana location. The timeline for that 74,000-square-foot location, off Interstate 10 in Lafayette, now has also been pushed back and is expected to open in 2028, according to local media reports.
