A woman pleaded guilty to negligent homicide after a crash killed NFL rookie Khyree Jackson and two others.
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — A woman accused of being drunk behind the wheel when a crash killed three Wise High School alumni, including NFL rookie Khyree Jackson, in Upper Marlboro, has pleaded guilty.
According to Prince George’s County prosecutors, 25-year-old Cori Clingman pleaded guilty to three counts of negligent homicide under the influence of alcohol.
Along with Jackson, 24, a fourth-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings, 23-year-old Isaiah Hazel and 24-year-old Anthony Lytton Jr. were killed in the crash.
Prosecutors say Clingman and the victims were friends and that they were all driving to the same destination at high speeds in separate vehicles on Pennsylvania Avenue.
“The friendships, the nature of these crimes where someone doesn’t intend to kill (led to a suspended sentence),” State’s Attorney Tara Jackson said. “But again, I want the community to be clear: we still have to hold you accountable.”
Investigators say Clingman’s recklessness led to the crash that killed all three men in the other vehicle.
According to prosecutors, the drivers were both traveling well over 100 miles per hour at certain times.
The crash happened when Clingman’s car struck a third vehicle. Then swerved into the right lane and struck the Dodge Charger driven by Isaiah Hazel.
The car carrying the three men went off the road and hit several stumps. All three died from their injuries.
Clingman is detained at her home until her sentencing, which is scheduled for Feb. 4, 2026, at 10 a.m.
Prosecutors say each count carries a maximum penalty of five years. They’re recommending suspending all but one year for each count.
In total, they’re recommending 15 years, with all but three suspended.
“While today’s plea brings a measure of accountability, I know that it cannot ease the heartbreak or bring back Khyree, Isaiah, and Anthony, whose lives were lost in this devastating crash,” said State’s Attorney Tara Jackson. “I hope that this case serves as a reminder of how quickly lives can change and brings greater awareness to our community about the dangers of reckless and impaired driving.
