Turning Opportunity Into ActionA 98% Growth StoryBuilding a Business and a PartnershipRecognition That Reflects the Journey

Unlike many franchisees who start from scratch, two of Screenmobile’s Rookie of the Year winners, Joshua and Holly Holfeltz, saw opportunity in what already existed.

“We have pretty diverse backgrounds; we’ve both worked in numerous industries and held various jobs from entry-level to Silicon Valley startups,” Holly said. “We interviewed over 50 businesses and settled on Screenmobile as a diamond in the rough.”

After relocating to Las Vegas, the couple explored various ventures while balancing family life. But once their children were all in school, they knew it was time to commit to something long-term.

“We decided to nail down our next venture,” Holly said. “Having been in the startup community, grabbing a business that was fully matured was extremely enticing. We saw spots where we could inject knowledge from our previous work and felt that it was something we could grow.”

For the Holfeltz family, Screenmobile checked every box. “We felt strongly that AI was not coming for this business model anytime soon,” Holly said. “It checked a lot of boxes — it was an established business of over 30 years, it was a franchise, and it was in a territory that had experienced explosive population growth.”

Turning Opportunity Into Action

When the Holfeltzes took over the existing Screenmobile location in West Las Vegas, they realized that growth would require a willingness to learn on the fly.

“The first thing we did was add technology,” Holly said. “Adding Jobber really helped us move and maximize our time, organize scheduling and really create an ease of use for our customers to communicate and pay.

From there, the focus shifted to scaling capacity. “The next step was adding employees to meet demand,” Holly said. “That was its own learning experience. We had to struggle, and we struggled for a long time. Education isn’t cheap — we ate through a lot of supplies and hours learning how to do the job. But you can’t be afraid to make mistakes; it’s how we learn the best. We finally feel like we found the right people, and we’re very excited for the future.”

A 98% Growth Story

The results speak for themselves. Since taking ownership, the Holfeltzes have grown the business by an impressive 98% over the previous owner.

Their strategy wasn’t overly complicated. “We said yes,” Holly said. “We knew we had to learn on the job what we could and couldn’t do.”

That mindset extended to every aspect of the business, from service execution to customer relationships. Alongside hands-on learning, the couple also implemented targeted marketing and invested in the infrastructure needed to handle increased demand.

Building a Business and a Partnership

Central to their success has been the way Joshua and Holly operate as a team. “There’s a clear balance of power in our business and our relationship,” Holly said. “Josh is very good at doing what he’s told. It makes the business run very smoothly.”

Over time, they developed defined roles that allowed each of them to focus on their strengths. “It took some time, but we both became experts in our respective lanes,” Holly said. “And we work hard to stay in our respective lanes and not try to tell the other how to do their job.”

While their entrepreneurial drive has fueled growth, the Holfeltzes are quick to credit the support they’ve received from the Screenmobile system. “Screen School set the foundation; after that, we were off and running,” Holly said. “They were always on speed dial and willing to help with any questions that we had, which were plenty.”

Fellow franchisees and vendor partners have also played a key role in their development. “They even lent a hand in a few jobs when we felt slightly over our heads,” Holly said. “Other Screenmobiles and vendor partners have always been happy to share knowledge and information. It’s been a very welcoming community.”

Recognition That Reflects the Journey

Being named Rookie of the Year – Established Location is a milestone that reflects not just growth, but the resilience behind it.

“It validates the decisions we’ve made so far and justifies the hard work and struggles,” Holly said. “We’re happy with the trajectory we’ve set so far and feel we’re on pace with the personal goals that we set before purchasing the franchise.”

For Joshua and Holly, the early missteps became part of the learning curve. “Good judgment comes from experience, experience comes from poor judgment,” she said. “Don’t be afraid to make mistakes because we made a lot of them.”

That mindset has turned an established location into a high-performing operation and a standout example of what’s possible within the Screenmobile system.
