PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A meat cleaver was discovered on a Delta Airlines flight from Portland to Salt Lake City on Thursday, November 13.

According to the Transportation Security Administration, the cleaver was in a carry-on bag.
A spokesperson for the Transportation Security Administration sent KATU News the following statement:
“TSA is aware that a passenger departing Portland International Airport on Thursday passed through the security checkpoint with a meat cleaver in their carry-on bag. We take this matter very seriously. We are reviewing the incident, and once we determine the circumstances surrounding this event, we will take appropriate corrective action that could include additional training of the security screening workforce.
All passengers were removed from the flight and were re-screened before the flight left Portland.
