Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti has wasted no time retooling his roster for 2026. Former Boston College running back Turbo Richard became the Hoosiers’ sixth commitment Sunday, according to On3 Sports’ Hayes Fawcett’s report.

The 5-foot-8, 207-pound Richard started 11 of the Eagles’ 12 contests in 2025, leading the team with 749 yards rushing and nine touchdowns on 145 carries.

The Charlotte native also caught 30 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns. Richard turned in three 100-yard performances on the ground throughout Boston College’s dismal 2-10 season under second-year Eagles head coach Bill O’Brien.

Richard played in eight of Boston College’s 13 contests in 2024, racking up 278 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

Out of Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Richard was ranked the 1,421st-best player nationally and the 107th-best running back, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings. At the time of Richard’s commitment Sunday, he was ranked the 10th-best ball carrier in the portal. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Richard will now join the Hoosiers’ running back room, which is currently comprised of redshirt junior Lee Beebe Jr. and rising redshirt sophomore Khobie Martin. The trio will be tasked with replacing Indiana’s premier backfield duo of Roman Hemby and Kaelon Black in 2026.
