Jan. 7 isn’t a municipal holiday in Los Angeles — yet — but MLB Network is using this 1/7 as an opportunity to showcase baseball’s most famous #17.
MLB Network announced Monday that Los Angeles Dodgers Shohei Ohtani will be the subject of a full day of programming this Wednesday beginning at 9 a.m. ET. (11 p.m. if you’re in Japan).

“Shohei Day” programming highlights will also stream on MLB.tv and in the MLB App.
The reigning National League Most Valuable Player will be featured over 15 hours of programming as follows:
- 9 a.m. (ET) /6 a.m. (PT) The Leadoff Spot
- 10 a.m./7 a.m., Hot Stove, including a segment dedicated to Shohei Ohtani
- 2 p.m./11 a.m., MLB Network Countdown: 2025 Postseason Performers
- 3 p.m./12 p.m., September 19th, 2024: Shohei Ohtani becomes the first member of the 50/50 Club
- 5 p.m./2 p.m., MLB Tonight, with a segment on Shohei Ohtani
- 7 p.m./4 p.m., MLB Tonight: Best of Shohei
- 9 p.m./6 p.m., October 17th, 2025: Shohei Ohtani’s 10 strikeout and three home run NLCS Game 4
- 12 a.m./9 p.m., September 19th, 2024: Shohei Ohtani becomes the first member of the 50/50 Club
After leading the Dodgers to their second consecutive World Series championship in November, Ohtani became a four-time unanimous Most Valuable Player Award winner, and a four-time AP Male Athlete of the Year.
