San Antonio’s dining scene experienced a wave of closures this October, as several longtime favorites and new ventures wrapped up operations. From the four-decade-old neighborhood staple Good Time Charlie’s to the recently opened Künstler Brewing, several San Antonio eateries closed this month.

San Antonio Restaurants Closeed in October

Several local favorites and iconic spots around San Antonio closed their doors this month, including:

The AMP Room 

After more than a decade in business, San Antonio’s iconic bar The Amp Room announced its closure. On October 4, the bar closed its doors permanently due to increasing rent. Located on St. Mary’s Street, the bar was known for hosting live bands, karaoke nights, ’80s and ’90s dance parties, and high-energy DJ sets. Check more details here.

Künstler Brewing

Known for its cozy tavern vibe, Künstler Brewing operated on East LaChapelle. The brewery served its final dinner on October 19 after nearly three years in business. The tavern offered traditional German beers, hop-forward IPAs, and Belgian-style ales.

Owners cited ongoing construction in the area as the main reason for the closure. However, Künstler Brewing remains hopeful and assures the community that it will be back soon. For more information, check here.

Bandit BBQ & Burgers

Another local favorite, Bandit BBQ & Burgers, closed on October 20. The restaurant opened in March 2025 and quickly gained a following for its signature BBQ platters and lively atmosphere. The news of its sudden closure was posted on their social media. Check here for more information.

Good Time Charlie’s

Opened in 1979, Good Time Charlie’s Bar & Cafe has long been a local favorite for classic comfort food. Known for its hearty comfort food and welcoming, family-style atmosphere, the restaurant served chilled beverages paired with delicious meals.

Mash’d

Mash’d, a decade-old brunch favorite known for its American comfort food and moonshine cocktails, announced its closure this month. The restaurant served its final meal on October 29 before closing.
