ALEXANDRIA — The Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors visited with three local businesses/organizations on Wednesday, June 11.

Katie Ledermann and Peter Kvale are the new owners of Burr Vineyards located just outside of Brandon. The business was started by Katie’s grandfather, Florian Ledermann, in 1999. Since Katie and Peter took over in 2024, they have expanded the business with a new production facility, more wines, woodfired pizza, ice cream
and more.

The winery also now sells products from Thousand Lakes Brewery, which is in Parkers Prairie.

Echo Press staff report

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
