Alsies—owned by local franchisee Steven Johns—celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting March 2. The mobile ice cream truck serves a selection of gourmet ice cream to residents throughout Northeast San Antonio, including Schertz, Cibolo, Live Oak and Universal City, Johns said.
“We are so excited to be a part of the community,” he said.

Patrons can locate an Alsies truck by using the Alsies app, which will display the truck’s location in real time. Customers can also call staff to drive closer to their exact address or recommend new routes for the truck to come through their neighborhoods.
“We’re basically a tech company that sells ice cream,” Johns said.
There are also renting options available for private events, parties and weddings.
