The members of the APWU Information Technology/Accounting Services (IT/AS) bargaining unit have officially ratified their new collective bargaining agreement today by 97% of voters.

“Thank you to members for their participation throughout the bargaining process and for exercising their right to vote on the agreement,” said APWU Support Services Division Director Kim Maurer.

The ratification marks the successful conclusion of negotiations between the APWU and the U.S. Postal Service. The new agreement includes strong improvements in wages, benefits, and workplace protections for IT/AS employees.

“In this anti-worker and anti-union climate, being able to negotiate a five-year contract that protects the no-layoff clause, cost-of- living adjustment, and a step increase is indeed an accomplishment. This contract deserved to be ratified by the overwhelming majority of IT/AS workers,” said APWU President Jonathan Smith. “Congratulations Director Maurer! Job well done!”

The new union contract will be posted soon in the APWU Contract Database.
