FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas baseball is hunting a regional title after back-to-back years of disappointing home exits, this time as the No. 3 overall national seed.
The Razorbacks (43-13) are the top seed at the Fayetteville Regional. They’ll open play in the NCAA Tournament on Friday against four-seed North Dakota State (20-32), with No. 2 Kansas (43-15) and No. 3 Creighton (41-14) sitting on the opposite side of the bracket.
The Fayetteville Regional is paired with the Knoxville Regional, which is hosted by No. 14 Tennessee. The Volunteers will host Miami (Ohio), Cincinnati and Wake Forest. Arkansas won two of three games against Tennessee during the regular season.
This is the seventh time in the past eight seasons the Hogs are regional hosts and the 12th time overall.
The Razorbacks have advanced out of a home regional five of the 11 times they’ve hosted. Last year, Arkansas was the No. 5 overall seed. The Hogs won the regional opener before falling to Kansas State in the winner’s bracket and losing to Southeast Missouri State in an elimination game.

Arkansas baseball NCAA Tournament appearances
Arkansas is set to host regionals for the 12th time in program history and the 11th time under head coach Dave Van Horn. The Razorbacks have made 11 trips to the College World Series, most recently reaching Omaha in 2022.
Arkansas baseball’s performance in SEC
The Razorbacks were second in the league standings this year with a 20-10 record. They finished two games behind Texas and one game ahead of LSU and Vanderbilt.
Arkansas earned series victories over NCAA Tournament teams Texas, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss and Tennessee. Their only series losses to teams still standing came on the road against LSU, Florida and Georgia.
