of upcoming programs, events

Ironwood Library, 4333 East Chandler Blvd., Ahwatukee has listed a number of recurring and special events.  

Storytimes: Baby, 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays, for up to 2 years old; Music & Movement, 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Thursdays and Saturdays, up to age 5.

Music & Movement (Ages 0-5) Every Thursday and Saturday, 9:30 and 10:30 a.m.  Sing, dance and move in this fun, active program that builds reading skills. A short community playtime follows. 

The Any Book Book Club, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Fridays. Kids in grades 4-6 read a book of their choosing and bring it to share with the group. Have fun with a book-related activity, craft, or game.

MakersBase, 3-4 p.m. Saturdays. Kids 6-11 can drop into a self-guided makerspace where they learn by doing. Explore creative hands-on ways to design, experiment, and make. All materials provided.

Game Night Extravaganza, 4-5:30 p.m. Thursdays. Join library staff for an afternoon of play. All ages welcome to choose from a variety of tabletop games or join the card table for euchre, spoons, spades, and more. 

​ Next Chapter Book Club. 3:30 p.m. every Wednesday. Inclusive community-based book club for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, regardless of current reading ability.

Sit & Stitch, 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16. All are welcome to sit and stitch. Knitting, crocheting, cross-stitch, needlepoint. All welcome.

Red Cross Blood Drive, 10 a.m-2:30 p.m. Aug. 25. To make an appointment: redcrossblood.org and select “Donating Blood.”
