The A’s plan to include PSLs on “some of the premium seating” at the team’s new 33,000-seat ballpark in Las Vegas, according to Mick Akers of the LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL. A total of 5,533 of the 30,000 fixed seats planned for the ballpark will have premium prices. A’s President Marc Badain said that “none of the general seating will have PSLs attached to them.” He added that the decision to use PSLs “came after the completion of fan surveys and research.” On a survey sent last fall to those on the A’s Las Vegas season-ticket priority list, potential PSL prices were “shown to be between $6,000 and up to $106,000 for club seats in Row 1.” Five MLB teams — the Giants, Astros, Twins, Cardinals and D-backs — have PSL programs in some fashion in place for season-ticket holders (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 2/12).

WORK CONTINUES ON STRUCTURE: The REVIEW-JOURNAL’s Akers in a separate item reported the A’s have applied for over $1B in “building permits with Clark County tied to ballpark construction.” The team is “applying for future permits in advance” as the 11 applications submitted thus far total $1.02B. Permit applications “already filed for all six of the main permitting packages” account for $970M of work. Two of four main levels of the ballpark now stretch “around the project’s 9-acre footprint.” Badain indicated that concrete on the “deck of the ballpark’s lower concourse has been poured from the foul pole on the third base line, with the pour starting Wednesday on a portion in right field.” He added that steel work in the bowl of the ballpark “will begin in March; with the fifth of the six buttresses to support the ballpark’s roof set to be completed by the end of the month.” The A’s are expected to provide more project updates at next week’s Las Vegas Stadium Authority board meeting (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 2/12).
