Jacob Wilson stands alone atop one of MLB’s all-time defensive lists.
The Athletics shortstop, with another error-free game in Sunday’s 4-3 win over the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park, extended his errorless streak to 111 games, which is the longest streak by a shortstop in league history.
Wilson passed former Baltimore Orioles infielder Mike Bordick, who previously set the record in 2002 with 110 consecutive error-free games.
The 24-year-old shortstop broke out as a rookie in 2025, finishing second in AL Rookie of the Year voting to Athletics teammate Nick Kurtz, while being named to his first MLB All-Star Game.
Wilson has played in just 75 games this season after missing time earlier in the campaign with shoulder and thumb injuries, so his current streak dates back to July 6, 2025.
After an impressive rookie season, Wilson now has a chance to become the first Athletics shortstop to win a Gold Glove Award since Alfredo Griffin in 1985.
