A buzzy Central Texas town rapidly growing with big businesses is set to receive another multi-million dollar hotel to boost its tourism. Marriott and IHG Hotels has set plans for another $10 million hotel in Bastrop, a city about 40 minutes east of Austin.

“We’re excited to see another hotel coming to Bastrop,” said Discover Bastrop Director Michaela Joyce in a statement to MySA. “As our community continues to grow, so does the demand for places for people to stay. Whether someone is here for a weekend getaway, business meeting, filming, or one of our many festivals and events, having more quality lodging options helps us welcome more visitors and encourage them to stay a little longer.”

Marriott was expected to break ground on the Residence Inn in early July and will soon begin construction on a second nearby Bastrop development later this fall. Bastrop’s new Fairfield Inn will be located at 837 State Highway 71, 78602, while the Residence Inn will be built about 2.5 miles away at 119 State Highway 304, 78602.

The scope of work for the Fairfield Inn includes the new construction of a 64,000-square-foot hotel with 121 keys. Owned by Marriott, Fairfield Inn & Suites is a midscale hotel brand focused on standard, overnight or short-term stays with free breakfast. Staybridge Suites, operated by IHG, is an extended-stay, all-suite hotel brand featuring full kitchens and workspace layouts.

Construction on the Fairfield Inn is slated to start on September 14 and should tentatively wrap by July 3, 2028. However, all TDLR filings and construction timelines are subject to change at any time.

“We’re seeing a lot of momentum right now with new developments, expanded tourism opportunities, and just an overall growing interest in Bastrop as a destination,” Joyce said. “Additional hotel rooms don’t just benefit visitors, they also support our local restaurants, shops, attractions, and small businesses.”

Fairfield is owned by Marriott International and Staybridge Suites is owned by IHG Hotels & Resorts. MySA reached out to both for comment on the new Fairfield Inn.
