The Berks Latino Chamber of Commerce will again honor distinguished community members at its annual gala.
The gala will take place Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Abraham Lincoln, 100 N. Fifth St., Reading. Attendees and sponsors can look forward to an evening of elegance and significance, the Latino Chamber of Commerce said on its website.
“This gala is a highlight on our calendar, bringing together business leaders, community advocates, and individuals committed to the growth and prosperity of our Latino Business community in Berks County,” the organization said.
The Latino Chamber of Commerce began more than 20 years ago with the goal of providing leadership and support for the economic development of the Latino business community in greater Reading.
The annual gala is an extension of that goal, as well as a way of bringing the community together to celebrate Hispanic heritage.
It will feature keynote speakers, recognition of outstanding achievements and networking opportunities.
Those being recognized at the event include Gary Seibert, chief executive officer of the Small Business Resource Association, Wyomissing.
Seibert will receive the “Community Partner of the Year” award.
The Small Business Resource Association aims to help grow small businesses, and provides training for employees and resources for growth, as well as assistance navigating the services offered by chambers, networking groups and nonprofits, according to its website.
Luis Cintron and his property renovation business, The Go 2 Guys, Reading, earned “Small Business of the Year.”
The Go 2 Guys offers services including home transformations and commercial build outs, according to its website.
Cintron was born and raised in Reading, and aims to improve the city “one building at a time,” his website says.
Another recipient is Omar Peralta, who will receive the chamber’s “Emerging Entrepreneur” award.
