These are The Republic readers’ favorite foods in metro Phoenix

Readers have voted on the best burrito, taco, burger and french fries in metro Phoenix over the years. Here are the winners.

  • Il Bosco Pizza won the 2025 Phoenix Pizza Poll.
  • The family-owned restaurant, established in 2012, has three locations in Scottsdale and Phoenix.

The Phoenix Pizza Poll launched earlier this month, in which a whopping 25 contenders went head-to-head in a reader poll to determine who makes the best pizza in metro Phoenix. The top three vote-getters, Trevor’s, Cibo and Il Bosco, made it to the second round.

Readers went all in, with thousands of votes placed in the final round. But only one restaurant can be named the winner of the Phoenix Pizza Poll 2025.

And the winner is — Il Bosco Pizza in Phoenix and Scottsdale.

First opened in 2012 in Scottsdale by Jeff Carlberg and his family, the restaurant now has three locations across Scottsdale and Phoenix. Il Bosco serves artisanal pizzas prepared in a 900-degree Valoriani woodfired oven. The menu includes two dozen specialty flavors, with vegan and gluten-free options available.

“We’re really honored,” Carlberg said after learning of Il Bosco’s win. “I’m just thrilled because our staff work so hard, and it really is due to our customers. They’re wonderful.”

How to visit Il Bosco Pizza

Pizzas at Il Bosco range from $13 to $24. Fan favorite pies include the Valentina ($17.90) topped with red sauce, pepperoni, Calabrian chili, mozzarella and a honey drizzle, and the vegetarian Adriana ($14.90) topped with red sauce, mozzarella and basil.

Il Bosco is open in Scottsdale from 4-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 4-8 p.m. Sunday.

The Phoenix location is open from 4-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
