Best tight ends for Denver Broncos

Adam Trautman is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent next week, and Evan Engram has an uncertain future with the Denver Broncos. That leaves tight end as a high-priority position for the team this offseason.

With free agency now less than a week away, here’s a quick look at six tight ends who could make sense for Denver.

1. Dallas Goedert (31): A former second-round pick and Super Bowl champion, Goedert totaled 60 receptions for 591 yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns last season. Broncos third-year quarterback Bo Nix would undoubtedly appreciate having that kind of red-zone threat.

2. Isaiah Likely (25): The former fourth-round pick was underutilized behind Mark Andrews, who just landed a three-year extension in December. Likely will now get an opportunity to go elsewhere and prove he deserves a TE1 role. He made the most of his rotational role in Baltimore, hauling in 135 receptions for 1,568 yards and 15 touchdowns over four seasons.

3. David Njoku (29): A former first-round pick and a one-time Pro Bowler, Njoku became expendable for Cleveland following the emergence of rookie Harold Fannin in 2025. He’s now set to hit the open market with 384 catches for 4,062 yards and 34 touchdowns on his resume.

4. Adam Trautman (29): He reunited with Sean Payton after the coach became Denver’s head coach in 2023. Trautman is used primarily as a blocker, but he’s certainly capable in a receiving role, totaling 55 receptions for 587 yards and six scores over the last three seasons.

5. Cade Otton (26): He spent the first four years of his career in Tampa, averaging 56 receptions for 545 yards and three touchdowns per season.

6. Taysom Hill (35): He’s more of a gadget player than a tight end, but it’s easy to imagine Hill reuniting with Payton to be used as a short-yardage runner with positional flexibility.

NFL teams can begin negotiating with pending free agents from other clubs on March 9, but potential signings won’t become official until the new league year begins on March 11. Teams can re-sign their in-house free agents at any time. Expect the Broncos to be active at tight end.
