The Big 12 has been one of the most entertaining leagues in college football this season, with an unpredictable race for a conference title and consistently thrilling games that sometimes don’t finish until deep into the night.
For all of the excitement it has provided, the league doesn’t have what’s widely regarded to be a top championship contender, with only No. 10 Iowa State in the top 10 of the US LBM Coaches Poll heading into Week 9 of the 2024 college football season.
This weekend’s results, though, could potentially change that.

While the aforementioned Cyclones were enjoying a bye week, No. 12 BYU went on the road and rolled by UCF 37-24. No. 16 Kansas State edged Kansas 29-27 in the annual rivalry game between the two.
Then there’s Colorado, which with its 34-23 win vs. Cincinnati on Saturday not only stayed within striking distance of Iowa State and BYU, but also improved to 6-2 on the season. With that, the Buffaloes are bowl eligible in a full-length season for the first time since 2016.
With those games officially in the books, here’s a look at where Big 12 teams land in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25:
