We are less than 7 days away from the start of college baseball, and D1Baseball started releasing lists of the top players at each position. In this article, I will talk about which Big 12 starting pitchers made D1Baseball’s top 150 list.

#9 Dominic Voegele (Kansas)

Right-handed pitcher Dominic Voegele earned Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors a year ago and enters 2025 as the preseason pitcher of the year. Last season, Voegele posted an impressive freshman state line of 7-2, 3.89 ERA, 80 strikeouts, and a .235 BAA over 15 starts and 81 innings.

#13 Ben Jacobs (Arizona State)

Ben emerged as one of the bright spots on Arizona State’s pitching staff last season. While he finished the 2024 season with a 4.75 ERA, he led the team with seven wins, striking out 102 over 66.1 innings with a sub-.250 average against. His 13.84 K/9 was 11th nationally and tops in the Pac-12, and his seven wins were third in the league.

#34 Ben Abeldt (TCU)

The former bullpen arm for the Frogs will now enter a starting role going into 2025, and rightfully so, with former ace Payton Tolle gone. Ben’s career numbers are outstanding: 6-4, 2.81 ERA, 58 appearances, .215 BAA, with a 29.5% strikeout rate. It only makes sense for TCU to give him more opportunities on the mound.

#35 Chase Meyer (West Virginia)

If you look at his ERA from last season (8.38) then you are probably wondering why he is even on the list. He struggled with his command in 2024, but according to D1Baseball, he showed massive improvement on Cape Cod last summer. His fastball reaches 97, and his curveball and slider both create massive swing and miss. Now, it’s time to put it all together.

#72 Ethan Lund (Oklahoma State)

Ethan is the only true freshman from the Big 12 who made the list. He comes in with high expectations despite his age. Lund was an All-USA Central Indiana Super Team Second Team performer at Hamilton Southeastern High School who went 3-3 with a 4.17 ERA and 85 strikeouts in 43 2/3 innings as a senior.

#81 Mac Heuer (Texas Tech)

Along with his massive size (6-foot-5, 265 pounds), Mac brings a commanding fastball averaging nearly 95 over the summer. His numbers may not have been great last season, but his experiences as a true freshman should pay dividends this year. Mac also struck out 46 in 47 innings, limiting batters to a .257 average.

#85 Dom Stagliano (UCF)

Dom is the ace of the UCF staff heading into the 2025 season. As a junior last season, Stagliano started 14 games, posting a 4.10 ERA with 66 strikeouts over 33.1 innings pitched. He Ranked 19th nationally with a 1.02 WHIP and 28th in hits allowed per nine innings with a 6.51 clip.

#92 Jack Martinez (Arizona State)

Coming in from Louisiana, Jack Martinez helped the Ragin’ Cajuns to the Sun Belt Conference regular season title and a spot in the NCAA Baseball Tournament a year ago. While he still has some work to do with his numbers, his .199 BAA is very impressive.

#95 Adam Mrakitsch (Cincinnati)

The senior transfer from Central Michigan made 28 career starts for the Chippewas, going 16-10 with a 3.54 ERA and 182 strikeouts in 185.2 innings. He looks to be the Friday night man for the Bearcats this season.

#120 Harrison Bodendorf (Oklahoma State)

Rounding out the list for the Big 12 is Harrison Bodendorf, who comes in as a transfer from Hawaii, where he was 9-5 with seven saves and a 4.03 ERA while recording 130 strikeouts in 114 innings of work. Harrison should play a big role for the Cowboys this season.
