It became official late Sunday night, in a game played on NBC and Channel 2: The Bills will fly to Denver, where they face the No. 1-seeded Broncos.
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — After the Buffalo Bills rallied to beat Jacksonville in a crazy wild card matchup, the team and fans themselves had to hurry up and wait to see who next week’s opponent would be.
It became official late Sunday night, in a game played on NBC and Channel 2: The Bills will fly to Denver, where they will take on the No. 1-seeded Broncos. The game will be scheduled on Saturday, with a time yet to be determined.
It also means that there will be no more games played at Highmark Stadium.
The Bills and Broncos met in the playoffs one year ago, at Highmark Stadium over wild card weekend. Denver scored first in that game, but Buffalo responded by scoring the next 31 points, and winning 31-7.
Quarterback Josh Allen completed 20 of 26 passes for 272 yards and two touchdowns, and the ground game added another 210 yards in a game where Buffalo scored on six of its first seven drives. The Bills also owned 23-minute advantage when it came to time of possession.
James Cook finished that game with 23 carries for 120 yards and a touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, Bo Nix completed 13 of 22 passes for 144 yards and a score. Denver was outgained 471-224.
