A body was found in the water off Castle Island in South Boston on Monday morning, police said.
Shortly after 9:30 a.m., officers assigned to the police department’s harbor unit received information that the Massachusetts Environmental Police had recovered a body in the water off Castle Island, police said.
Homicide detectives were notified, and the medical examiner’s office took custody of the body to perform an autopsy, police said.
