Boston Mayor Michelle Wu brought her newborn daughter to work at City Hall on Tuesday.Mira Wu Pewarski was born on Jan. 13 at 2 p.m., weighing 8 pounds, 4 ounces and measuring 20 inches. She is the third child of the mayor and her husband, Conor. Wu is experienced at working in city government as a mother. The couple’s two older boys, Blaise and Cass, were born while Wu was serving on the City Council. Wu briefly introduced her daughter to reporters after taking questions about a letter from the Republican chair of the House Oversight Committee, Rep. James Comer, who called on Wu and the mayors of three other U.S. cities to testify on “their misguided and obstructionist policies.”Wu is the first woman and person of color elected mayor of Boston. The Harvard College and Harvard Law School graduate was elected mayor in November 2021 and took the oath of office a few days later instead of the usual transition in January because she was replacing an interim mayor.The mayor previously said she was preparing to work from home more after the birth of her baby girl.Wu’s current term will end on Jan. 5, 2026, and she has said she plans to run for reelection.
