BOSTON, MA – In a lively display of community spirit and sportsmanship, officers from Boston Police Department’s District D-4 laced up their sneakers to face off against students from Boston Green Academy in the 3rd Annual ‘Cops vs Kids’ basketball game. The event, inspired by the Boston Celtics’ run in the NBA Finals, was held recently and culminated in promises of a rematch next year due to the competitive nature of the game.

Following the intense game, officers switched gears from competitors to hosts, grilling lunch for the students and providing refreshments from the BPD Ice Cream Truck, offering a cool respite for all participants. The event, which has become a staple in fostering community relations, was made possible by the substantial support from local community partners.

This annual gathering not only promotes positive interactions between the police and youth but also strengthens community ties, emphasizing teamwork and mutual respect. The Boston Police Department looks forward to continuing this tradition, building stronger relationships through such engaging community events.
