Boston police seek video, witnesses after 5 shot at Franklin Park

Boston Police are investigating after five people were shot near Franklin Park on Sunday night.According to Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox, officers were in the process of clearing the streets on the outskirts of the Dominican Festival of pedestrians around 8:45 p.m. on Sunday when officers heard multiple gunshots coming from the crowd.Officers initially located four victims suffering from gunshot wounds who were treated and transported to local hospitals by Boston EMS. Additionally, officers later located a fifth person suffering from apparent gunshot wounds who was also treated and transported to a local hospital.All of the victims, three males and two females, have non-life-threatening injuries, according to Boston Police.The shooting came just as the city’s annual Dominican Parade and Festival was winding down for the night.”This incident really marred a pretty successful event for the folks here,” Boston Police Commissioner Cox said during a briefing with the media at the scene.The investigation is ongoing and police are urging anyone with any information, photos, or videos to contact Boston Police.”If anyone has video footage, anything of that sort, we really need help on this one,” Commissioner Cox said. “We need to hold these people responsible whether it was an individual or individuals responsible for the heinous act, shooting into a crowd. You can’t come into our city and do these kinds of things and not expect to be held responsible and we absolutely guarantee that we’re going to do that for this incident.”
