BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Boston University men’s basketball graduate student Miles Brewster has been named to the five-member Preseason All-Patriot League Team, as announced by the conference office Thursday. In addition, the Terriers collected two first-place votes on their way to a predicted third-place finish.

Serving as team captain last year, Brewster started all 33 contests on his way to becoming the first Terrier in program history to earn All-Conference (second team), All-Defensive and Academic All-Conference team honors in the same season. He ranked in the top 15 in the PL in seven categories, including 1.5 spg (#3), 40.7 3FG% (#5), 3.3 apg (#6) and 10.8 ppg (#15) while also ranking third (75th nationally) with a 2.3 assist-to-turnover ratio. Highlight performances included 21-point games against Colgate and American and also a personal-best five-steal contest at Rutgers.

In the preseason poll decided by the head coaches and sports information directors, defending PL champion Colgate took the top spot with 14 first-place votes and 156 points, while American placed second at 144 points thanks to four first-place votes. Helped by a pair of first-place votes, the Terriers collected 120 points to edge the No. 4 Bison’s 115 points. Lehigh (103), Lafayette (77), Army West Point (64), Navy (61), Holy Cross (40) and Loyola Maryland (20) rounded out the list.

Returning all five starters from last year’s squad that finished second in the PL standings for the first time in seven years, BU will open its latest campaign by hosting local non-conference rival Northeastern on Monday, Nov. 4. Tip-off at Case Gym is set for 7:30 p.m.
