Stephanie White talks about Caitlin Clark’s ‘bad luck’ with injuries

Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White talks with media ahead of Friday’s game against the Minnesota Lynx.

It’s unknown whether Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark will play again this season, as the 23-year-old has missed the last 13 games with a groin injury.

One thing that’s certain is that, come Friday, Sept. 5, fans can see Clark hit logo 3s and dish passes to teammates Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell at least virtually, in the new NBA/WNBA video game by developer 2K Games. And unlike real life, injuries in the video game can be turned off in the settings.

In her second appearance in the NBA 2K series, Clark is one of the highest-rated overall players in the game, and the Fever are ranked only behind the Minnesota Lynx and the New York Liberty when it comes to the highest-rated teams in the game.

Here’s what Caitlin Clark’s overall is in NBA 2K26 and how you can play as the former Iowa women’s basketball star when it releases.

What is Caitlin Clark’s overall in NBA 2K26

Clark is the fourth-highest rated WNBA player in the video game, with a 96 overall rating. Highlights for the 23-year-old in the game include a three-point rating of 97, a shot IQ of 98 and a playmaking rating of 94, according to 2Kratings.com.

Here are the top 10 highest-rated WNBA players in NBA 2K26:

  • Napheesa Collier, Minnesota Lynx: 98 overall
  • A’ja Wilson, Las Vegas Aces: 97 overall
  • Breanna Stewart, New York Liberty: 97 overall
  • Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever: 96 overall
  • Alyssa Thomas, Phoenix Mercury: 95 overall
  • Sabrina Ionescu, New York Liberty: 93 overall
  • Nneka Ogwumike, Seattle Storm: 92 overall
  • Satou Sabally, Phoenix Mercury: 92 overall
  • Jonquel Jones, New York Liberty: 92 overall
  • Angel Reese, Chicago Sky: 90 overall

Upon the release of NBA 2K25 last September, Clark was rated a 90 overall, tied with former collegiate foe Angel Reese as the highest-rated rookies in last year’s game. Fellow Hawkeyes Kate Martin of the Golden State Valkyries is a 72 overall, while Washington Mystics guard Lucy Olsen’s overall is not yet available.

When does NBA 2K26 release?

NBA 2K26 releases on Sept. 5 for $69.99, although those who preorder the deluxe editions of the game will gain access starting Friday, Aug. 29. Prices for the deluxe editions start at $99.99.

The cover athletes for this year’s game are reigning NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and a pair of Baltimore natives in retired NBA legend Carmelo Anthony and Angel Reese.

How did Caitlin Clark get hurt?

The Indiana Fever guard left her team’s 85-77 win vs. the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday, July 15, after feeling discomfort in her lower body with about 30 seconds left in the game, after a bounce-pass assist to Kelsey Mitchell.

Fever coach Stephanie White confirmed postgame that it was the right groin that the Fever training staff was evaluating. Clark finished the game with 14 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and one steal.
