Mendocino Farms, a fast-casual restaurant chain known for its fresh sandwiches and salads, has revealed plans to enter the Chicago market.
In a page on its website, the California-based chain announced it’s opening a location in Chicago’s River North neighborhood in late August and a second restaurant inside Willis Tower in the winter.
“Hello Neighbor! Welcome to your new happy place,” a message on its website read, in part. “…We first opened our doors in 2005 as a family business with a vision to offer much more than great food — 20 years, 75+ locations and a few million awesome meals later, we’re bringing our EAT HAPPY vibes to Chicago.”
The River North location, which will be at 508 N. Clark St., is slated to open on Aug. 26. New customers can sign up for a “My Mendo” rewards account online and select Chicago-River North as their favorite location to receive a free entrée when the restaurant opens, according to the company.
Mendocino Farms promises to take customers “on an unexpected culinary adventure with fresh ingredients and fearless flavor combinations” through its creative sandwiches and salads. While the chain operates dozens of restaurants in California, it has expanded to other states including Colorado, Texas and Washington.
