In San Antonio, most major touring acts pick either the massive Alamodome or the home of the Spurs, the Frost Bank Center, for their concerts. Many fans will want to unwind during their favorite artist’s show, whether that means grabbing a drink or otherwise. However, if you vape or smoke, you’ll want to be informed of these venues’ policies ahead of time.

No, you cannot smoke or vape inside the Alamodome, according to the venue’s prohibited items list, which bans smoking, e-cigarettes and vapes. The venue also prohibits “illegal substances,” which would include recreational marijuana. The website also outlines a tobacco policy, stating that the Alamodome is “a tobacco and smoke-free building.”

“This includes all forms of smoking and tobacco use, including but not limited to, cigarettes, cigars, electronic cigarettes, personal vaporizers, smokeless tobacco and tobacco pipes,” the policy reads. “There will be no designated smoking areas anywhere inside the Alamodome. The tobacco and smoke-free environment extends 300 feet from the Alamodome.”

The rules at the Frost Bank Center differ ever so slightly, but are largely the same. The prohibited items list bans “drug paraphernalia, electronic cigarettes and vape devices.” According to the guest code of conduct, smoking and vaping is prohibited.

“Frost Bank Center is a tobacco- and smoke-free facility. Smoking and tobacco use of any kind are prohibited, including cigarettes, cigars, electronic cigarettes, personal vaporizers, smokeless tobacco, and pipes,” the tobacco and smoke-free policy reads. Like the Alamodome, there are no designated smoking areas inside the venue. If you have to, you’ll need to step 500 feet beyond the building.

So there you have it. If you’re going to a concert at either of these major venues, you’ll want to leave some stuff at home.
