Amcor Holdings, a real estate investment and management company based in Westmount, Quebec, a Montreal suburb, purchased the office building at 500 Davis St. last month for $11.5 million, Crain’s Chicago Business reported last week. The sellers were a venture of real estate investor Randy Rissman and Bob Wislow of Parkside Realty.
The $11.5 million price is about 35% of the building’s previous sale price. Eight years ago, Chicago-based Steelbridge Capital sold the property to Rissman and Wislow for $32.4 million, Crain’s reported.
The 10-story, 125,285-square-foot building was built in 1978. Level Architecture refurbished it in 2016 while Steelbridge owned it, updating the lobby, outdoor space and signage. The property also contains a 250-space parking garage.
Sale materials from real estate firm Colliers indicated the building was 62% occupied when it was listed for sale in April 2026, Crain’s reported.
Cook County Clerk records show that Rissman and Wislow’s purchase was financed by USAA’s real estate arm, which was purchased by a buyout group in 2020 and rebranded as Affinius Capital in 2023 following a merger with another company, Square Mile Capital.
Amcor Holdings, Parkside Realty, Rissman, Colliers and Affinius Capital did not immediately respond to requests for comment from the RoundTable.
This summer, bakery and cafe The Praline Cauldron closed less than a year after opening in the 500 Davis St. building. The retail space in the building also previously housed Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken, which closed in 2024.
