RED RIVER News:

The Town of Red River Office of Economic Development & Tourism has announced that Candy Crate of Red River, a beloved local candy store, has been selected for the 2024 Backing Small Businesses Grant Program, presented by American Express and Main Street America.

This honor places Candy Crate among an exclusive group of only 500 businesses nationwide chosen for this prestigious grant.

In collaboration with American Express, Main Street America’s Backing Small Businesses grant program aims to support economically vulnerable and under-resourced small businesses that have a significant community reach and cultural importance.

Through this initiative, Candy Crate has been awarded $10,000 in grant funding, which will be dedicated to expanding its manufacturing capabilities and enhancing product marketing efforts.

Candy Crate of Red River has been a staple in the community for many years, delighting customers with its delicious homemade fudge, brittle and other old-fashioned candies. This grant will enable the business to not only increase production but also share its treats with an even wider audience.

“We are incredibly proud of Candy Crate for this remarkable achievement,” said Max Khudiakov, Director of the Red River Office of Economic Development & Tourism. “This grant is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the special place they hold in our community. We look forward to seeing them continue to grow and succeed.”

The Backing Small Businesses grant program is part of American Express’s broader effort to support small businesses across the United States, ensuring that cherished local establishments like Candy Crate can thrive and continue to contribute to their communities.
