Terence Crawford and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez square off on Saturday, Sept. 13, in Las Vegas in a historic boxing match that is expected to be one of the biggest fights of the year.
Alvarex (63-2-2, 39 KOs) is Uncrowned’s No. 8 pound-for-pound boxer in the world, while Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) in No. 3 on Uncrowned’s list and is undefeated in his career. Alvarez’s super middleweight championship is on the line and both fighters are four-division world champions.

Alvarez opened as a -200 favorite at BetMGM, but is down to -160, while Crawford opened as a +175 underdog and is currently +145. Only 19% of wagers are on Alvarez to win, but nearly half the total dollars wagered (49%) at BetMGM are on Canelo, while the betting public is backing the underdog, with 45% of wagers on Crawford to win.
“In a battle between two of the best boxers of this generation, I fully expect Alvarez vs. Crawford to be the most wagered on boxing match of the year,” Alex Rella, senior trader at BetMGM, said in a statement. “While Alvarez has taken a slightly higher handle in the three-way money line (contains a draw), Crawford has received more than double the action than Canelo in regard to our two-way money line. I anticipate the action will shift more in Alvarez’s direction as we get closer to fight night.”
