The Boston Celtics have made a few additions this week, the most notable being Devin Carter.
Carter is only two years removed from being a lottery pick. While his first two seasons with the Sacramento Kings didn’t go as planned, he still has the potential to develop into a valuable two-way role player.
It helps that Carter is an athletic freak. In fact, he posted some of the most impressive NBA Draft Combine numbers we’ve seen in recent memory.

Devin Carter’s NBA Draft Combine results
Carter did himself a lot of favors with his NBA Draft Combine performance.
He measured in at only 6-2, but Carter made up for it with a 6-8.75 wingspan.
Carter’s 42-inch vertical tied him with Trentyn Flowers, Keshad Johnson and Reed Sheppard for the best mark at the combine.

Carter also posted the third-fastest lane agility time and set an NBA Draft Combine record with a 2.87-second three-quarter-court sprint. Two years later, he still owns the record for the fastest three-quarter-court sprint at the NBA Draft Combine.
Carter emerged as one of the NBA Draft Combine’s biggest winners, establishing himself as one of the most impressive athletes in his class.
“We had Carter projected No. 15 to the Miami Heat in our post-lottery mock draft,” SB Nation’s Ricky O’Donnell wrote after the combine. “That felt like a higher-end outcome for his draft position, but he may have just moved up another couple spots.”
The Celtics will hope Carter uses the physical tools that helped make him a lottery pick to tap into his potential.
