CLEVELAND, Ohio — CentroVilla25 will celebrate its grand opening this weekend and will feature food and clothing/accessories vendors, an outdoor plaza, a rentable commercial kitchen and a bar.
Located in the Clark-Fulton neighborhood, the Latino market is aimed to serve the area’s population, which is about 50% Hispanic.
The market is operated by the Northeast Ohio Hispanic Business Center for Economic Development and is located in a former 32,500-square-foot warehouse on W. 25th St. just about a mile south of Cleveland’s Westside Market.
Hundreds of people attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday morning that featured guest speakers including Jenice Contreras, president and CEO of NEOHCED, Cleveland Ward 14 Councilwoman Jasmin Santana, Cuyahoga County Council member Martin Sweeney and more.
The market is divided into two different markets, Mercado Verde – the food market, and Mercado Rosa – the clothing, accessories and services market. The food market includes food from Venezuela, Mexico, El Salvador, Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
The grand opening will be held this weekend, May 31-June 1, and will include the inaugural Sabor y Ritmo Festival, a free event with live music and family-friendly activities from 1-10pm Saturday.
