A small Central Texas town will soon be able to “Eat More Chicken.” Chick-fil-A is building its first restaurant in a growing north Austin-area city.
This new step in Chick-fil-A’s construction process comes four months after the Taylor City Council greenlit the project to begin development.
The scope of work for the project includes building a ground up Chick-fil-A restaurant that will be 4,730 square feet. It will be located within a Walmart Supercenter parking lot, across the street from Taylor’s only H-E-B and near other restaurants like a Double Dave’s Pizza and a Burger King.
“While we are still early in the process, Chick-fil-A is happy to share that we are actively pursuing our first location in Taylor,” Chick-fil-A, Inc. said in a statement to MySA. “We look forward to working through the permitting process with the City of Taylor and are excited by the prospect of joining the community. We hope to have the opportunity to serve new Guests delicious food in an environment of genuine hospitality and care.”
Once open, this will mark Taylor’s first Chick-fil-A as the city continues to grow with new businesses. Currently, the closest Chick-fil-A for Taylor residents is in Hutto, a city about 10 miles away from Taylor.
The store will also bring 80 to 120 jobs to the city once open.
Taylor’s first Chick-fil-A is expected to begin construction on May 17, 2027 and take approximately five months to complete. It’s slated to be finished by October 21, 2027.
