EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Each summer, a Wisconsin farm is asked to host the annual Wisconsin Farm Technology Days, where visitors can see advancements in agriculture devices and see hundreds of vendors.
For Jamie and Renee Close of Close Farms in Cadott, hosting the expo was no small feat, but they understand just how important the event is for our state.
“Bringing the community together to learn more about what goes into the food we have to produce for everybody to eat, but the technology that goes into it as well,” said Renee Close.
But they knew they couldn’t host without a little help from the community.
Luckily, the farm is located near the Country Fest and Rock Fest grounds, a place where people know a thing or two about hosting large events.
“Ultimately it’s for giving back to the community, it’s giving back to economic development, obviously that’s a big part of our world already with our music festivals, but this is just another way to give back,” said Wade Asher, of the Chippewa Valley Music Festival grounds.
By having activities at both the farm and the festival, there’s more opportunity for demonstrations, and more space for things like food trucks and extra vendors.
A space like both of these allows visitors to camp near the venues and maximize their time at the expo.
“It’s a massive amount of vendors, there’s over 300 vendors that are coming out so, you name it, it’s gonna be here if it’s related to ag,” Asher said.
This isn’t the first time Chippewa County has hosted the expo, they originally hosted it back in 2004, and the Close family is prepared for the thousands of people from around the Midwest to be at their farm.
